The main objective is to discuss and identify research and innovation challenges, as well as funding opportunities in view of the upcoming Horizon Europe Calls.
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”14px”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInUp”]All sectors of business and society, from housing to energy, transport, healthcare, education, banking, industry, entertainment will increasingly rely on the cloud-edge-IoT continuum, and it is often argued that the overall trajectory of the ICT sector as it is used today is unsustainable. Without dramatic increases in its efficiency, the ICT industry could use up to 20% of all electricity and emit up to 5.5% of the world’s carbon emissions by 2025: a reliable assessment of the environmental impact of the Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum, along with effective measures to reduce it, becomes key to the sustainability of our whole society.
The Green Cloud-Edge-IoT Computing D4P Horizon Europe webinar is gathering top experts from the European Commission, to industry and academy to present and discuss how energy-efficiency technologies, mechanisms, and policies must be put in place at several levels to ensure the development of an eco-friendly cloud-edge-IoT-empowered market that is accessible to both public and private organisations.
Relevant Horizon Europe initiatives will be presented, as well as concrete activities planned by the Digital for Planet – D4P Green Cloud-Edge-IoT Computing Working Group, in preparation of upcoming Horizon Europe Calls.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”22px”][vc_btn title=”REGISTER NOW HERE” style=”flat” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” css_animation=”fadeInUp” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdigital-for-planet-webinar_green-cloud-edge-iot.eventbrite.com||target:%20_blank|”][vc_empty_space height=”42px”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInUp”]
