Digital Day 2021 – European Green Digital Coalition

Digital for Planet – D4P welcomes and supports the establishment of the European Green Digital Coalition (EGDC) to be announced today during the Digital Day 2021. D4P has joined a number of top executive leaders from all over Europe to sign the Declaration of the EGDC Members – “In support of the Green and Digital Transformation of the EU.”

The EGDC aims to accelerate the transition of the ICT sector towards a green, climate-neutral, circular and zero pollution economy while ensuring sustainable, inclusive and resilient development of our economy and society. All EU Member States signed “A Green and Digital Transformation of the EU” Declaration that marks a major step ahead to ensure mobilisation of public and private investments to accelerate the fast recovery and growth of Europe coming out from the recent pandemic crises stronger and greener.

“Digital for Planet is committed to the green digital transformation of our society to empower people and protect our planet,” says our President Dr Monique Calisti. “The EU Green Digital Coalition is a major achievement, but it is only the beginning of a long-term commitment that all organisations and individuals of our Association are called to support”.

Digital for Planet is engaged in a number of initiatives across several research and innovation areas, that promote the development and adoption of greener digital technologies and solutions to protect our environment while boosting the fast recovery and sustainable growth of our society and economy.
